Once again, White Oak produced this two-day, multi-stage Christian music festival in April featuring local and national entertainers. Kutless, Further Seems Forever, Jaci Valasquez, Barlow Girl, and Israel & New Breed were a few notables on the bill.

Back to the Beach

Back to the Beach FestivalKenner, LA
Record crowds attended this year’s Back To the Beach/Save Our Lake Festival the first weekend of June. White Oak produced the event and designed the new lay out for the new location in Kenner.  It looks like this site will be the permanent home for The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation’s annual festival (across from the Treasure Chest Casino at the end of Williams Blvd.)

Glenn Frey rocks the Kentucky DerbyLouisville, Kentucky
White Oak produced this spectacular party in Louisville featuring headliner GLENN FREY on May 5. Décor, moving lights and even go-go dancers transformed an old warehouse into a high-energy party with nearly 1000 people in attendance. (Photo courtesy of: Wayne Swikert)

Wildflower Arts and Music Festival

Wildflower Arts and Music FestivalRichardson, Texas
KC and the Sunshine Band, Jimmie Vaughn, The Spinners, Bowling For Soup, Johnny Lang, Joan Jett, Loverboy are just some of the acts that White Oak booked and produced for this crowd-pleaser in May. Located near Dallas, the event brings people together to celebrate the impact of music, which White Oak helps execute by booking a broad array of talent and genres.

DHL Jazz Quest

DHL Jazz QuestNew Orleans
White Oak booked and produced this afternoon event at the Riverwalk outdoors in Spanish Plaza.  The aptly named event took place the first weekend in May during the prime of Jazz Fest season. Entertainment included the Jazzy/Blues rhythms of Chris Klein and the Boulevards, caricature artists, magicians, and Mardi Gras revelers.  Passer-bys flocked and withstood the rainy weather for the chance to win a private concert with John Mayer.

AstraZeneca Convention

AstraZenecaNew Orleans
The first convention of its size post-Katrina, White Oak booked all of the entertainment for this 1000-person event at the Marriott downtown. Entertainers included the best New Orleans has to offer throughout the second week in May. Dr. Michael White & The Original Liberty Jazz Band, Irvin Mayfield, Amanda Shaw & The Cute Guys, Henry Butler, Charmaine Neville, and Chris Burke & His New Orleans Music played throughout the beginning of the week. The entertainment wrapped up with the above artists collaborating with Irma Thomas & The Professionals along with Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters in a jam session featuring Allen Toussaint’s hit “Yes We Can Can” in a tribute to the rebuilding of New Orleans.

Habitat for Humanity WWL TV Concert

The aforementioned entities cooperated to “Raise the Roof” at the Audubon Zoo in March to help rebuild New Orleans. White Oak booked the event featuring George Porter, Jr. & The Runnin’ Pardners. Soul Rebels Brass Band opened for legendary bassist and front man.

We booked Dr. John and Dr. Michael White as entertainment and handled all production aspects for this party that included many of the professional golfers in town for the Zurich Classic at the end of April.

American Library Association Awards Party

American Library AssociationNew Orleans
Rockin’ Dopsie Jr., & The Zydeco Twisters brought a close to the ALA Convention in late June by serenading the new ALA president on stage. White Oak booked the band, produced the event, and coordinated a parade of Cajun dancers and Mardi Gras Revelers to bid the librarians farewell and to thank them for supporting New Orleans.

Audubon Institute

Audubon Nature InstituteZoo To Do
Again this year, White Oak produced and booked the Zoo’s annual gala including three different stages on Cinco de Mayo.  Kim Prevost & Bill Solley, Coolbone Brass Band, The Bucktown All-Stars and E.L.S provided entertainment.

Zoobilation
White Oak booked three bands for the Zoo’s annual membership party in June. Voodoo Funk & Soul rocked the afternoon away on the main stage.

Mother's Day with Irma Thomas
Joe Krown opened for the legendary “Soul Queen of New Orleans.” Audubon let mothers in for free for their special day and Ms. Thomas played to a packed crowd.

Go Fourth on the River

Go Fourth on the RiverNew Orleans
The annual July 4th concert featured The Top Cats, Bucktown Allstars and Amanda Shaw.  Cajun dancers engaged the crowd before and during Amanda’s set.  Even facing disagreeable weather conditions, the White Oak team was able to brave the rain and keep the show alive.

SOS Concert Series at Tipitina's

Tipitina'sNew Orleans
Zachary Richard, Tipitina’s and White Oak teamed up to present five free concerts at the legendary club with money raised by Zachary Richard in France.  These funds were used to pay local musicians displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Gambit Weekly, Gloria Powers and White Oak booked and produced two wonderful concerts in the Harrah’s ballroom.  Allan Toussaint performed with Elvis Costello making a special appearance. Another great concert featured Jeremy Davenport and Ingrid Lucia.

This annual good bye to the graduating seniors on May 12 featured Charmaine Neville.  White Oak booked and produced the entertainment for the event including stage, sound and lighting.
